Integrating Faith in learning, leading, and serving

Catalyst, a campus ministry, is designed to connect the University and residents of the Lowcountry with monthly service projects. Catalyst is an extension of Lifeway’s M-Fuge in the Charleston community. Coordinated by Corey Humphries, this group schedules events for students, faculty and staff, to help those who are less fortunate.“Being part of Catalyst makes me feel very fortunate for the things that I have,” says  Emily Libertowska.Developing leadership skills is another essential purpose of Catalyst.  Students who take leadership roles initiate further participation in missions and develop problem-solving skills. “We love giving back to the community,” says Katelyn Headrick.According to the Catalyst service statement, “the community has basic needs that must be attended to first, before they can be ministered to.” Nichole Diller says, “it’s a great way to worship God through service.”If you are looking for a ministry on campus that involves helping the community while worshiping and serving God, please contact Corey Humphries at chumphries@csuniv.edu.
